Hi,

I hope I've not missed this when browsing through the forum, my apologies if I have.

I have been working on this website for days and days (new at customizing Wordpress) however, my issue seems to be how it displays on a 21" screen. Is there anyway to solve this?

Thank you in advance for any direction ... I'm lost with this one!

Jennifer

It's not the physical measurement of the monitor that creates the problem, it's the screen resolution in pixels that is set for the given computer.

If you think it looks bad at 21", image it at 24" at 1680x1050! :)

You'll have to set max width to either your css or table... whichever method you are using for layout. And you'll probably want to bump up your font size a bit.

Most everyone with equipment like this can take care of themselves.

A larger than average font-size: has always been important for my work - never more than now. Larger screens with higher and higher resolutions make text smaller and smaller. The 'quality' goes up, but nobody can read anything without zooming text. Most sites, IMO, have always used text that is too small. Big, high-res monitors make the problem much worse. Make sure that your designs will not break when I CTRL+ three or four times.

D_Blackwell offers excellent advice!

I'll only add that I no longer pt or px fonts or dimensions... using ems and percents seems to have solve MANY of the problems cross browser/hardware for my sites.

CTRL+, these days, is my best friend for aging eyes. :)

Do people with very high resolution screens still browse at full screen? A 24" screen (of which many these days have a res of 1920x1200) is like having 2 'normal' screens side by side!

I had a 21" at full screen for a while, so yes I did (unfortunately my mom couldn't read anything >.<)

I actually have two 24" screens; I normally leave the right one off unless I want to watch TV or a movie while I work.

Full screen browsing is a bit much. Normally the browser window is about 2/3 the width of the screen.
