question about a template color code thing issue

i have designed my very first theme using a book i baught and a blank template i baught but for some reason i cant get the area where the links, subscriptions and meta tags are at to turn to the color i need, the edge is the image file but ive located all bg colors and change everything but for some reason this color wont change from pink to blue and so if anyone can please help me id kindly appreciate it, everything else on the blog looks really good but just this area wont change unless im missing something

It sounds like an issue with CSS rules for that section. To help you we'll probably need to see the relevant code. Be sure to read our Guidelines fo Posting Code [webmasterworld.com] if you do post some of it.

Are you working directly with the source code, or using an editor of some kind?

ooh i did finally figure that out but ended up with another type question i want to add regular text links under the area that says links, meta, and subscribe but actually really i want to just plainly remove those as its ugly for 1 and then just replace it with my text area such as my copyright and graphic credit links and stuff and thats it but not sure how without messing up wht footer code, im usinf context to open the css files and php files to edit them and then saving n reloading them bk to my server homepage cpanel.
