Background colors in tables - OK on screen

Hi all,
Is there some snag to getting background colors to print in parts of tables?
I'm trying to get <td> sections to print with a Gray background, but nothing I do with the table itself, or in the CSS is resulting in the color printing - it is OK on screen, but doesn't print.
I thought it might be too light a gray, but I can't get BLACK to print.

Is there some 'issue' between screen and print re table section backgrounds?

Found the reason - it's a browser setting, with default set to not print background color. Pity we can't force this somehow with our web application. Anyways, at least I can stop tearing my hair out...
