Can't open Outlook after installing IE

I closed all my programs and installed the latest version of IE (7 I believe). After that, I tried to reopen Outlook, and received a pop up msg that said, "unable to open your default email folders". ?

Please help, my entire business revolves around email. I appreciate anyone's help, I thank you so much in advance.

Can you set your system back to the last "good" date using Windows system restore?

Well, I uninstalled the latest version, and reverted back to the version I had before. That solved the problem (partly). Now I can use Outlook ok, but what is causing the new version of IE to make the error msg happen in Outlook?

I believe Outlook uses the same rendering engine as IE (apart from Outlook 2007 which uses Word 2007)?
