Mozilla1.1 and Netscape7.0

Can they co-exist?

I have Moz 1.1b installed on my development system, but did not install Netscape 6.x because many people said these two were not compatible on the same system.

Has anyone tried Netscape7.0 on the same system as Moz1.1? Can they co-exist without problems?

msr986,

I have both on this machine. They do interact - it seems that if you do the default install, preferences and caches are shared. For initial set-up the sharing of preferences is actually a convenience - you only have to do the set-up once, and it works for both.

I intend to go change the default directories in both to see if I can disentangle them, but in the meantime, they both work OK. You cannot run them at the same time using the same username, but again, I believe this is because of the preferences being shared.

I have had no problems with all of my netscape/moz versions. They sometimes do weird things when you run them at the same time.

I think the people who told you that were referring to running multiple instances/versions simultaneously.

...running multiple instances/versions simultaneously

That's what did me in - just one instance each of Netscape 6 and Moz 0.98.

And I still can't get it sorted out to run either one on that machine ever since.
