I have the 3 column layout, and use it to position the centre <div> at the top of the source code where most of the unique text of a page exists - rather than have all those SERP's and "ransom" notes that splodge a bit of my navigation in front of the user.
Anyway, I like the layout, and see why people use it. My <div>'s are nice and white, with a background of #CCCCCC. Each div is seperated %wise by about 2%. The <div>'s also have black borders. The thing is, when my centre div spans "below the fold" of the browser, it hangs on to the bottom of the page.
Ideally, I'd like that 2% gap that is around every other div to be evident at the bottom of the central div. Is this possible? It no doubt is.
Otherwise I was going to change the border of the centre div to only have a border on its left, top and right side.....and introduce a .class for a <td> to make the effect at the bottom of the div. It sounds like its awkward, considering all the progress that the world has overcame in regards to HTML,CSS and the like :)
Anyone know of the magical solution?
