Sure phpBB2 may not be like the WebmasterWorld message board but it offers a lot and can help existing websites to become sticky and involve members to return.

The setup of phpBB is very simple, I installed the software within a minute, and the administration configuration is truely easy to use.

Along with the new design there are many new features also.

phpBB is database driven and supports the follow types of databases:

MySQL 3.2x,
PostgreSQL 7.x,
Microsoft SQL Server 7/2000
Microsoft Access (via ODBC)

What I didn't like especially about the new version was the abondance of gimmicky features - it's a real pain to get all that stuff out of the code.
