just need a quick, basic code

hi, i know this must be simple for most of you, but i am looking for the code that will allow me to have an onLoad pop-up window appear when users access the site. thx in advance.

Try using the "site search" function, and look for "pop-up code" (no quotes). There are some good threads buried in there

lol...i'm not truly evil - the pop up window will actually just be info about that site itself...an announcement that i don't want people to have to search the site to find. hope that makes me look a little better!! :O)

A pop-up window will infuriate the h*** out of neurotic fellows like myself. Did you think on alternatives? Are you sure that the same thing can't be done with a text box or a sidebar? Or an explicit link to the info page?

Sorry, too much caffeine yesterday... but the popup windows really make me sick, even on legitimate usage. Consider that some people disallow javascript only because of it.

If you still want to go on, the keywords are <body onLoad="Your code here">.

But I'd hate to get into your site.
