NN 4.0 and onMouseOver in img tag

browser compatibility

yes, its another cross-browser compatibility problem!

everything works fine in IE. However...

1) When mousing over hotspots the ALT text works for some but not all???
What sense could this possibly make?

2) Hotspots do what they're meant to do, but RolloverImages(the colored
boxes) dont work??? OnMouseOver is meant to be NN4.0 compatible, is it not?

3) MOST CONCERNING point is that the flexible nested tables(set to
100%)aren't flexible, and in fact seem to be fixed at 1200 pixels wide in
the NN browser???

see site in profile -- on the page index_eng.htm

H E L P ! ! ! is much appreciated.

Thanks,
david

Hi David,

It hasn't been that long ago that I first discovered this terrific board, so even tho it's not my place to do so - here's a friendly reminder: Posting links to your own commercial site is not really acceptable - if you think about it, it's kinda like spam.

You've done a good job of asking specific questions. Instead of us going to your site to see your code, just post a few fragments that relate to your questions.

Please take this in a friendly way.

If I'm wrong or out of line then someone please correct me.

Ok. Wow! Slick site! But NN4 doesn't support onmouseover nor onmouseout on the IMG tag. You'll have to wrap it in an A element.

Netscape Javascript Reference [developer.netscape.com]

Thanks,
Mike

esocial,

Mike Foster's got it right on both counts. Thanks for the explanation, Mike.

And thanks, esocial, for understanding about no links to your own commercial site. That simple agreement helps us keep the signal to noise ratio nice and high.

Thanks for the help, and sorry if i broke the rules. to be honest i didnt even realise.
although my site is commercial i'm pretty sure that most people in this forum are web developers too so i dont see how they could be considered as a potential market for my website development services.
also, there are many occasions when the problem in question cant be replicated in code or even explained in writing. a link to the "single page" can tell the story much more effectively. people arent forced to look around the rest of the site(as was the case here, where i was having problems with my "homepage" which in fact has no info on it at all and is used only for navigation). But, i now realise that the rule is made as general as possible to keep the "signal to noise" ratio high!
