Surely not your browser of choice, just there for testing right?

4.08 (The browser only part) here. I'm used to it hanging. Here's a guess - no guarantees - Start the browser clean, clear the browser cache, reboot the computer, then see what happens.

If that doesn't work try reinstalling, preferably after un-installing.

Tried all that:)
I use it for testing mainly but I find it a lot quicker than IE which I hate :)

I have even fdisked and reinstalled Win98 !

thanks for the info

Perhaps something has gone awry with your User Profile. Suggest deleting your profile then creating anew. Save your inbox and bookmarks [Prog Files>Netsc>Users>yourname] move this file elsewhere. Then Start>Prog>Netsc>Utilities>User Profile Mgr to create fresh.

What a pain, good luck.

I had a similar problem about a year ago with netscape. I emptied the cache, created a new profile, reset almost every preference I could, made sure scan disk would run (so that there were no file problems), and it seemed to fix itself. Turned out that the problem came back the next time I ran into a particular page that included java. Reinstalled all of netscape and made sure that the old java got overwrote - been working ever since.

I get this problem when Netscape 4 tries to run proprietary IE JavaScript.

Yeah, it's been documented here before. You're also likely to find a 'hidden' netscape running (no icon showing on taskbar) if it appears the open NS4 window has locked up (links won't click). Close all using endtask.
