anyone know how to uninstall internet explorer 5.5 in win2k??

in IE folder there is an IE uninstall folder that has 3 icons...

w2kexcp.exe
ieexcep.inf
ieexcep.cat

but not an uninstall .exe also from control panel add/remove programs there is no option to uninstall IE (all other installed software shows but not IE)

any ideas gratefully recieved.

Try going to Windows Updates and view your history of updates. Look for IE5.5 and there should be an unistall option - at least there use to be. When you click on it, it may ask if you rather "detect and repair" in lieu of uninstalling. Obviously though, select uninstall.

thanks for the input,

unfortunately this version seems to have been a custom install from a british telecom disc,
i've managed to uninstall 5.5 (using the command line - which makes me feel real proud doing complicated things like that!!!)

but i'm left with version 5.0 and i've trawled the ms site, and cannot find relevant info.

IE does not show in the add/remove programs dialogue, i can't find a windows updates, only to un/install windows components but IE is not listed.
