Magnification of Files

Problem with Website Forwarding

There is a discrepancy in the sizes between my
domain name URL (which is reached via a web
forwarding service) and the direct URL.
The pages (files) are slightly amplified when I use my domain name (http://www.mydomainname.com) and they are normal size when I view them in the directURL (http://www.realwebspace.com/mydirectory).
I do not understand how the process of web
forwarding could affect the size of the files
on the browser, nor do I know if the forwarding
process is the actual cause of the problem.
Any ideas?

Is your web forwarding using frames? If so then that would be your extra k.

Thanks, Ian. I will check that.

Ian,

You were correct. In choosing frame web-forwarding (in which the domain name shows on the browser, rather than the actual URL) there is a slight magnification. When I switched my account to the non-framed, the size returned to normal.

Thanks very much!

It's not magnification... It's just that there's extra code you don't see... You've got an invisible frame at your domain's url that loads your website at it's real url.

Only do this if you really can't afford virtual hosting... It will mess with your search engine rankings (won't even show up in some search engines) and your visitors will not be able to bookmark specific pages in your site.
