Forms in Layers in Netscape

2 forms - one works one doesn't

This is really doing my head in.

I have a form within a layer which doesnt work. I tried it out of a layer and it does work!

I also have another form in EXACTLY the same type of layer which does work.

The form that doesnt work has a drop down (2 items) a text area and a submit button which calls a javascript function.

The form that does works is a search box that calls a server script.

So.....how do i make the form work?? I tried putting the form in a table, outside the table, outside div tags, inside div tags etc.
