Mozilla .96 was finalized and released today.

Notable updates:
- Favicon.ico support for bookmarks and current site.
- Search from highlight context menu.
- Tab system may now open links in background (no key control though).
- Improved stability (recent builds have been running excellent here).
- Downside: No increase in speed that has been promised.

I do too. Just wish it didn't take a mainframe to run it.

It is a fine project. Without it my favorite browser (Galeon [galeon.sourceforge.net]) would not exist. Gecko is a first rate rendering engine. I guess the reason Mozilla is slow is because it is trying to be too much, and the cross-platform compatibility must also add bloat -- plus there is the XML support.

To be fair, Opera for *nix is a substantially slower than the M$ version. In my limited testing Mozilla 0.9.5 was actually slightly faster than Opera on a moderate Linux box.
