Hi,

I've found a web page that has a very nice colour scheme that I would like to also use. I've looked at the code and the colour codes aren't included in the source (I assume it must be using css).

What would be the best way to capture these colours?
I have paintshop pro 5 and dw 4 and was thinking something along the lines of using the eye dropper tool but can't work out how to open a live page in either of these apps.

Is there any way to do this at all?

The website's a very big corporation and I doubt very much they would let me have the codes if I email them. I've also tried estimating the colours but this is a bit hit or miss as explorer seems to interpret some of the colour codes differantly.

thanks,

Mat

Hi Matleeds:

Can you grab and image from the page? If it has the background you'll grab that too.

Is this legal? Is it ethical?

Hi matleeds,

Can you not view the *.css file?

Another option is (probably not so good) is capture the screen with the 'Print Screen' and then open your graphics editor and paste it into the app.

Try www dot nattyware.com/pixie it's free and it turns your mouse pointer into a colour picker when you run it. Very cool and perfect for capturing Hex. RGB. html. colour codes.

I have no affiliation with the site just use the freeware.

can't work out how to open a live page in either of these apps

- Hit "Print Screen" on your keyboard, when viewing the web site, then open up Paint Shop Pro

- From the "edit" menu, goto "paste" and select "paste as a new image"

Pixie has been recommended here before and it rocks.
