I signed up on 27th September. I still havn't had a response from Froogle! Do these guys respond?
I received a reply today.
So, three weeks to get a reply regarding your application for approval. Yet sem4u got a reply in two days. Wonder if the delay was due to the VAT issue?
Site rejected because vat cost not included on product pages. The site shows vat (and delivery costs etc) for every item as soon as you add it to the cart. But Froogle want the vat on each product page.
Thats very interesting. Can anyone else confirm whether Froogle UK does require your site's product page prices to be inclusive of VAT? I'm only talking about your site's pages, not the datafeed for Froogle (which we know has to include VAT).
I did a quick scoot of some Froogle results and yes, every site I visited does indeed include VAT in the prices on their product pages.
If Froogle does require a site product page to include VAT in the prices, that is a major issue. Many UK-based sites that ship overseas will only add VAT to orders originating in the UK or EU - to determine this, the user will often need to go to the cart/checkout and enter a shipping destination. There is nothing underhand or deceitful in this - it makes more sense to provide a base price (without VAT) for all users, and then add the VAT to those to whom it applies. Doesn't a lot of off-the-shelf ecommerce products use this solution? If Froogle cannot recognise how common this practice is for UK-based sites then they will be excluding a large number of sites from their index.

There is one site competing with me who do not include VAT in their prices. They also are spamming Froogle with identical listings but different landing URLs.
I reported both problems to Froogle on Friday but have had no action taken yet.
