I understand the way that the rank works, and that it takes 20 or so (src.backrub) itterations for the ranks to normalise.. I was just wondering if anyone knows what would happen if google were to dance - a single itteration - every day, or dance constantly..
Is there a mathematical reason to do it one go? or is it more to do with managing the roll-out?

the dance adds to the evocation of quasi-religious sentiments in webmasters. It is somewhat reliable, but you never know when it happens exactly, and it is very important for you - quite like the natural gods bringing rain or the floods of the nile. And its will (algorithm and the time to dance) is not known to the believers, though some priests (GoogleGuy) give hints sometimes, which, in turn, are interpreted by the followers of this obscure god.
And since the will is not known, there is a rise in theological speculation, like "why does it dance, anyway"? ;)
LMAO.. the best reason I've ever heard :)
