Will Google index pages linked in a noframes field?

Yes i have had some pages indexed from the noframe section.

this is strange because it sounds too an easy way to get doorway pages indexed

They definately get followed, BUT how much benefit do they give? I suspect noframes content is downgraded due to spamming this area, but its only a hunch. So if a link to a doorway page is followed from a noframes, it may not do the doorway page as much good as a 'visible' link.
