Flash Sites and Rankings

I am in the process of building a flash site but I did some reading on rankings and I read that most search engines do not index flash sites. Is that true? If so, I came up with an idea that im not sure will work but here it is: Create a HTML page as my index.html and redirect it to my site with all my content and keywords. Will that work? Any help would be appriciated.

I have set up a resource list [webmasterworld.com] to aid in Flash development as it pertains to marketing. If you need an all Flash site, the best way I have found is to test for Flash and set a cookie and redirect to the HTML version. I would suggest using Flash and HTML together so you have a nice usable experience for all viewers including bots.
