affects of a temporary site outage

Our site was deep crawled for the first time at the beginning of this month. A few days ago we expeienced a two hour network outage while fresh bot was visiting many of the newly crawled pages. Several minutes after the site came back up fresh bot retrived a few more pages and then stopped.

What are the likely affects of this outage on the rankings of our currently indexed and the inclusion of the newley indexed pages in next month's index?

You should be ok.

This update should show your pages from the deep crawl.

If you don't see freshbot for a few days you might manually submit them, but I think that you'll be ok.

The only time you need to worry is if your site is down for an extended period when Google does it's monthly crawl. If you were down for Freshbot, all that might happen is your latest changes might not show up until Freshbot hits you again - no biggy.

You CAN be effected nowadays with freshbot being so active. Happened to me this past weekend. The server died for 12 hours and there was an "Under Construction" place holder in place while they set up the new machine. Freshbot picked up that page as my home page, but it was only there for a day. I'm sure the problem was that the page wasn't sending proper header info (my hosts are idiots) so a lot will depend upon what IS showing when it hits. Usually a timeout will keep it unaffected.
