ok I have learned alote on this forum by posting and alote of reading..one thing that still gets me though. A freshbot visits your site and temperarly shows your pages on google..(come and go) I Have had freshbots visit my site almost everyday, the logs show that they view over 200 pages more than once everytime they come. So my questions is...than why is only my index page coming up on google and none of the other ones? I also added new info to the index page, and when the freshbot visited , it crawled all my pages. Guess wich page was updated and displayed...yep only the index page...can someone help me understand this?

Probably the pages will be shown after the next update. If you are adding new pages to your site, these pages will have no PR - this is only calculated once a month (I think). Therefore, the new pages will be spidered , but will not shown in the results until the next updated when they got a PR. However, if you change your index page (which has allready an PR) then these changes will appear in the results.

I think once your home page gets some PR, the other pages will be listed. I had a similar circumstance until my home page got PR.

Hey oO_cops_Oo

It might be 'cause you haven't been through an update yet. When did the site's index.htm first show up? If you post the dates when the site first got seen by freshie it can be figured out. I have the log files handy showing when the deepbot's been around and the update days aren't a problem.

We could see when you'll likely show in the Google index.
Even if you don't get in the next update, the rest of your pages will probably start showing up from freshie then.

My site was started jan 02 2003 The first freshy to find my site was jan 24th, 2003 (only index page) feb 2nd freshy found all my pages and been visiting ever since. Feb 6th to the 16th deepcrawl viewed over 312 pages.

I guess it wants you indexed first.

I can't exactly remember the process after my site went up, other than the DMOZ editor accepted it in 2 days, then 2 days after that it miraculously appeared in Google. It went away after a week or so, I was baffled. I searched the web, found this place, read stuff on everflux in posts, then it all came clear and I patiently waited. It was 6 weeks, because of timing, before it was permanent.

You've been deepcrawled, freshie likes ya... let's hope for a dance soon. :-)

You're in Google. In a matter of days when the update starts, (I hope), you'll probably see all the pages there, with PR and all.

imo, all your pages should have 'regularly' changing content for them to remain in the index even if they do not have a PR assigned yet.

Regular new content, and new pages, sure seem to keep Google interested. I notice that the freshbot is always more interested in pages that have recently been changed or had links to other new pages on the site added.

I like that about Google... it gives a reward to active sites.
