A link from DMOZ is just that... a link. As soon as Google reports it under a search for link:yoururl, you can be sure that Google has incorporated the benefits (PR, etc.) into its algo.
As far as I know, it is the same for the link from the Google directory... it is still a link. (Nice bonus to get two links for the price of one!)
Google Directory relies on an output of the directory created by dmoz.org (the Open Directory Project - ODP) as has been said previously. It's only been a week and a bit since ODP was able to properly output its directory so that Google (and others) can import it. The previous output was from six months ago.
Google may or may not incorporate the new output into its next indexing - I suspect it will, but I also suspect that it will mean the next indexing is delayed. As others have mentioned, there is a theory that Google has been decreasing the importance of the Google Directory in its algorithms because of the staleness. When the fresh data from ODP is incorporated , it is thought more weight will once again be placed on the directory. Of course, that is all supposition.
So, no worries. It may or may not happen for the next indexing, but it will almost certainly be incorporated into the end of March (roughly) indexing.
Is there any confidential information about DMOZ which is owned by TIMES & AOL, it is said the problem of RDF had been settled early Jan of this year, and can be output normally.
in the other side, the RDF question will be settled by immediatelly if DMOZ project is not free. You suppose what is the future of DMOZ?
From the March, YAHOO will buy INKTOMI, Google data will continue to be used by Yahoo at that time?
