I have a web page with PR5. Cache for my web page is not updated from December, but cache of web pages of my competitos with PR3-4 is updated on 18 Feb.! What's wrong?

Your help is highly appreciated.

eJoker,

Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]!

You didn't say when your page was last deep-crawled, so it's hard to tell...

Check your robots.txt file, the meta robots and meta expires tags on the page, and your server headers to be sure you are not telling Googlebot not to request or cache your page.

HTH,
Jim

Thanks.

But there are no problems both with meta tags and robots.txt. Any other suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

The Google cache shouldn't last longer than two updates. To have a cache now from before Jan 1 2003 seems very odd.

I stopped the Google Cache on one site about six months ago I think because of this. I do recall seeing Cache's which were over two months old, but if I remember correctly it had to do with everflux etc.

I decided a decision had to be made whether to allow viewers to see old pages or see the most up to date. I have not in any way regretted using the google no-cache tag.
