evil or benign?

This is my first time post, so I hope I am in the correct forum.

Recently, my company employed a SEO company. They are building pages that will include our content. We have a couple other affiliates doing something similar, with great results.

This company wants us to include a <noscript> tag which will include the URLs to the external pages they are developing.

I have been unable to find anything that specifically states that this practice is evil or benign, and the example pages they have shown me are ranking very well within Google.

Does anyone know the answer?

If it's there because these same links are in a javascript menu and you just want to provide some navigation alternative for those without js enabled, then you should be fine. However, I'm guessing that's not the case. I'd say the consensus here is that this is a risky ploy. Just how risky depends on how competitive your category is, since it's likely to be a competitor's complaint that brings it up before an editor --and how much you're including in the noscripts section.

Ok...thanks for the confirmation. My gut tells me that its definately risky, and since the categories we are in are highly competative, I think I will <noinclude> the tags.

:)

Thanks!
