When will the Google Directory show the new dump?
When will the new PR of the Google Directory be factored into the results?
Right now there are thousands of sites that will be getting a second link equal to their DMOZ link, which happens to be their best incoming link. Thousands of other sites will be losing their best link (because they have been removed from DMOZ sometime since September for one reason or another). This will result in significant changes in many competitive areas. The question is then, when will this change truly be felt... in two weeks or in six weeks?
Google already lists the oldest results in their directory with huge amounts of porn spam. As far as I know it's the slowest updating web directory and the most spammed one.
As for the spam, seems like they don't care, otherwise they would at least remove the expired domains which were meant for disabled people and different organisations and now have porn content, they are still listed in their directory
since back in 2002.
You are spot on Rfgdxm1... I reckon the ODP usually gets crawled early on. However, I got some interesting Google Fresh pages this week, which suggest it MAY have re-crawled. Could be wishful thinking of course!
It's great to have an up to date ODP again though... especially speaking as a user.
Seopti.... I'd chill out if I were you. You may not like Google or the ODP (just gauging from your post), but in truth these are possibly the most small guy friendly providers in the biz.
I believe this is why Google has given less and less importance over the last few months to listings at ODP. Now I bet we see them have a duplicate importance factor once again. Why not. Quality is what counts.
