Really good article on Redherring and funny information like :
Even the power supply is held on with Velcro straps: if it burns out, it can be replaced quickly

Anybody have more info to share on their having built their own
motherboards (?!) and system units (more reasonable).

However, velcro'd on power supplies? What about grounding,
airflow and being UL listed, FCC class whatever certified
and acceptable to someone writting fire/casualty insurance
...I mean really now -- velcro'd on power supplies?

I'm really curious about their machines now. Just what
are they comprised of? And what parts are internally
designed and made?

All bailing wire jokes aside, I'm really QUITE curious
and would appreciate anything anyone could share on this.

Thanks all,

Louis

Netscape's 1995 IPO made Mr. Andreessen rich and set off the dot-com boom. But then Netscape, the epitome of a Moore's law company, ran into the marketing meat grinder of Microsoft and was left on the slaughterhouse floor.

... nicely said allthough these two sentences describe a tragedy.
