It seems logical that search engines like google should index pages from other search engines like www.msn.com (inktomi). Do you know if it actually does that. I was thinking that if it does, one way to get indexed by google is to register for paid inclusion with inktomi. I am asking this, because i filled out a form to get indexed by google about two weeks ago, and so far it has not visited me. I know about a monthly crawl, but does it not happen on the 29-3 of each month?
Thanks

Hi Vlado,

The best way for Google to know about your site is by following a link from any other site.
Try to have your site listed on a few (a lot) other sites and you'll see GoogleBot crawling in your site soon.

One of the best places to start with is the Open Directory Project (dmoz.org)

Good luck,

Dan

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, vlado

To do a search in a search engine you have to click a button. A search engine can not click a button.

Google's deep crawl of the net usually begins immediately after the large update, but it seems that they are a little late this month. They have not begun spidering my websites yet.

Don't waste your time submitting pages to Google for indexing. Get incoming links from pages that are already known by Google. That's what really counts.

Also all search engines (which i can remember) blocks their results via the robots.txt file.
Even though sometimes the serp's gets indexed due to direct linking and they are presented by partners which doesn't prohibit the spiders so index their serp's.
