Since backlinks are being discussed, can anyone provide info on why the following would occur.

AAA.com links to BBB.com and CCC.com

(links appear on same page, a few lines apart, both links checked to make sure working properly)

BBB.com shows AAA.com in backlinks, but CCC.com shows no backlinks.

All sites are crawled by google.

Google wont show backlinks under PR 4, even if they do count a little. This is the reason for the original question of this thread.

But he asked about links from the same page? Or only the same site?

Clarification:
My new site has a PR3 and shows no backlinks in Google. I know for a fact that there are multiple PR6+ sites linking to me, but no backlinks show up for my site. Some of these sites show up in the backlinks for my other site.

Magguru
I misunderstood your answer as meaning my site would not show any backlinks until I reach a PR4 or above.

This being the case why are none of my PR6 backlinks showing up, or any for that matter. I would assume that Google would have to know of my backlinks to assign me a PR at all.

I believe it works both ways. It wont show any backlinks until your site gets to PR 4, and it wont show your sub PR 4 backlinks when your site reaches it.

is it PR6 from the index page or are the pages that have your link on actually PR6?

following up on dazz's question:
... or is it PR6 with one link or a PR6 with 100 links on it?

The actual pages linking to me have the PR6. There are multiple site with this PR, some have 10-30 links and some have 100.

Is there a way to check for internal links only with Google?

colemanator,

I have a small experimental site which for a long time was a PR3 and although it was linked to from a few pages that had high PR, no backlinks showed. So I do believe it is correct to assume that it works both ways as Macguru stated.

Colemanator,

just to add to what Macguru said on not showing backlinks from PR6 pages:

[webmasterworld.com...]

but that is PR6 with many links.

Therefore it is strange that the PR6 pages with only 10-30 links would not push you into the PR4 range.

Maybe those pages are guessed pagerank, within a site using frames, using javascripts links, special no-follow robots etc?
