does the number of pages in my site affect PageRank

does the number of pages in my site affect PageRank? I read somewhrere that it would be good for PageRank if I had many pages. Is this true?

That depent.
Only many pages don't help to boots you pagerank and can lower you pagerank in the begining. But if after a time the new pages get link from other sites and you have a good navigation on you site, it can boots your pagerank.
