I thought I read something about 100 on the index page, is this true with Google? My concern is that other search engines may find it useful to have say 250 links on a homepage.

Google does state on their help pages that links off of a page should be kept below 100 to help the bots crawl the whole of a website and GG has said the same on here on webmasterworld, but I have never heard of any other engines "liking" 250 links
