Site Down During Udpate

How bad will this hurt me?

My site's been down since saturday morning, and will probably be down until tomorrow at the earliest. How will this affect me?

It should not affect you.
The update is when they are replicating the new index onto all servers.

It sucks if your site is down during the crawl, though.

Being down during the update won't hurt you, but being down during the deep-crawl certainly can. Unfortunately, it looks like the deep crawl started Saturday and continued today.

There is some chance that your site will be re-crawled before the deep-crawl ends. Or that it will be picked up mid-month. If that happens, you may see no change in the March index. Otherwise, you will have to get by on Fresh listings or purchase some Adwords to get you through March...

One might add that it now seems to be an established fact, that freshbot indeed contributes to the update. So if the deepcrawl misses you, you may still put a certain degree of hope in freshbot. Deepcrawl and update are not quite the dramatic events that they were only few months ago.

When your site comes back online, Ms. Googlebot will probably find it pretty quickly but it won't hurt to submit the index page at addurl.html.

For sure, the freshbot crawls were included in this indexing.

I finally saw the new work I did mid-December in this indexing, and on top of it, freshbot pages from as recent as Jan 23rd or so. It's very cool 'cause I was away from the internet much of November, back in December and then working on things that were too late to show for the Jan 1 indexing; now everything is showing up at once. My PR6 seems to be the same but what the hec... maybe someday I'll get a 7.

It make me think if this is a timely update for google with the network being slow as it is and many sites are down.
