Hello,

First, I would like to thank all the active participants on this board. You guys are just great!

I have recently launched a website and have debated back and forth whether to use a plural or singular version of a specific keyword.

My debate was whether to use Widget Tip or Widget Tips. It seems google treats those two phrases as different altogether. Is this correct? Is one version better than the other?

Thanks in advance.

Roy

Hell Irubin, and welcome to WebmasterWorld.

Yes, Google does treat these as two different words. Use a tool such as the Overture search suggestion tool, or word tracker to find out which phrase is the most popular. Why not optimize for both?

Overture search suggestion tool maps singular and plural the same.

At times it is worth optimizing for both, and others not.

You can streamline your efforts [save time] by knowing if you should.

Hello irubin, Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

<title>Widget Tips - Our Daily Tip on Widgets</title>

Targeting singluar and plural versions can be tough. You just need to get a little creative with your web copywriting. Balance the two in your content and you should be able to effectively target both.

Notice the above example? I've targeted both singular and plural for both tips and widgets.
