If they stick to their American holiday theme, Ground Hog Day is the best bet. = Feb. 2
(Now where is my recipe for Ground Hog stew?)

Brett do you think its going to be late because of the late december update and the really deep crawl this month?

It seems they try to pick times when people won't be searching, so I'll say kickoff on Sunday. Definitely not Tuesday night, because everyone will be fleeing their TVs to avoid the State of the Union.

Is the superbowl really that widely watched, and thus counts as a pagan holiday? I'm on the West Coast so it's a big deal around here but I would think on the East Coast it wouldn't be.
I don't watch football so I'm out of the loop. But SuperBowl weekend, Saturday, seems like a good time to start.

Watching TV and surfing Google is a major past time for many people. They say you can set and watch the queries come across and know what show is on. I bet kickoff time, will be pretty busy at G.
btw: post counts are off in this thread.

When the dance happens, I ususally get some beers and go through the results to see how we did. I will be drinking on Super Bowl Sunday anyway, so if it happens that day, it will at least save me some brain cells.
It would be nice if google would announce when the dance would happen. Last month I was on vacation and had to go to the hotel business center 3 times a day to see if it had danced (my girlfriend was not too pleased). If they announced the day (at least a day or two in advance) it sure would save me some stress.

Maybe the topics of searches change based on what's on TV, but does the frequency change?
Also, a lot of people will be watching the game somewhere besides their home.

Of course people have to lookup the websites for all those catchy new million dollar commercials, and look up irrelevant football stats to see if they have any hope of winning their scoring board at work.

Are we betting on the Iraq attack or the Google update? Which one is more important to you? Google update: Sunday, January 26th at 7:32 pm EST and 12 seconds. Iraq Attack: There won't be one. Saddam has decided to retire and spend more time helping at the HIV/homeless shelter. And Bush has decided the armed forces need a break, so he has decided to have beach volleyball and BBQ in the desert! ;)

Not till the end of the month at least. The last 3 or 4 updates there's been a few days of no fresh dates then another couple of days after that the updates happened. So I'd say Jan 31st at the earliest.
