Hi rick41 and welcome to WebmasterWorld.

In all likelihood you have not been penalized. Google does not arbitrarily penalize web site for no reason and as such, unless you can definitively say you have done something wrong then you are ok.

If for example: you linked to a penalized site/page google would interpret your link as a vote for someone that has done something wrong thus passing on the penalty to you.

If for example: your site is new and Google refresh bot took a run by you would be listed by your listing is current not in the primary index yet therefore backlinks would not show.

I suspect that you have not been penalized and a little patience will usually show this.

Yes a mirror can be bad - although this really depends on your definition of a "mirror site".

Near duplicate content (site) isn't the best approach - but google would unlikely see a "bad" pattern with two. If many that's different.

Thanks for the info. But lets assume my links where took off by google would that be for ever or temporarly do they have a black list?

Grey area.

Sometimes sites can get away with near anything and others can't.

Therefor very difficult to say.

The number of other unique links will though play an important part.

...or you can look at it this way... the less influence any particular change/addon has on the whole, the less potential there is for google to detect to it, and penalize it.

WIth mirror sites or doorway sites, you will likely not be penalized, more likely you will be permananently banned. If you have been penalized then your homepage will likely have a low Pagerank, and perhaps every other page in your site with have PR 0.

Thanks fathom and thanks whatson but my site is still showing up in google same position or one position down (i am 3rd for my keyword). If my site would be penalised, i assume i would not be ranked anymore?

another question how do i know the difference between pr0 and pr 10

download the toolbar from here [toolbar.google.com...] that will then tell you the pr of the site/page

rick41, you can download the toolbar at [toolbar.google.com...] and install it with the advanced features, that will show a green bar which you can move your mouse over and that way you will see the PageRank for the specific page.
(edit tigger beat me to it)

Also have Google showed backword links to your site before, try using alltheweb.com and see if they have found any incomming links to your site, and how long has it been up?
