Query about Google Listings

Hi,
Firstly although this is my first post I've been reading this forum for months and a big thanks to everybody here as thanks to info and tips from this forum 2 of my sites that were previously mid ranked in their niche now get top 3 google placings for every keyword thats important for them.

After the previous paragraph I really hope that my problem hasn't been done to death and I've missed it...apologies if it has.

Anyway, I've recently started a new site, along the sam lines as my previous sites but now in the "adult" sector. As the site was settling down I did not actively submit it to any engines. When the site was finished I put links to it on my other sites and after a few days I noticed it was listed on Google, in fact it was number 1 position for a few of my keywords.

Around 36hrs later the google hit's were gone and my site was no longer listed. A week ago I submitted it to dmoz and I noticed in the stats a few days ago google/yahoo was giving me hits...again considering how new the site was I had good positions again for my keywords.

Again 36hrs later...gone. No listing in Google at all.

The main thing I learnt from my "mainstream" sites was as long as the content was as description/keywords etc then the ranking would be a good one. I just followed this basis with the new site, although it's adult there are no
multiple gateways, stealth pages, invisible text etc.

The description and keywords exactly match the content, as I've said when it was listed (google bar showed pr0 and no backward linked pages by the way) I had a reasonably high listing.

Anyway my question is(yeah I know...finally:))...can anyone think of why google would be listing me and then delisting me in this time period?

I'm actually up to my third time at the moment got delisted again today after 36hrs of nice SE traffic, I actually submitted the url to google today to see if it makes a difference but I've never actually had to physically submit a site before.

What have I done?....somebody...anybody?:)

I saw this behaviour on google too, but not in that extend. I often get very strange changes in hits from Google, mostly at the beginning of a month. Then I also realize often, that my rankings vary over some days and settles then down for some weeks. Anyway SEO is something over weeks or month, and do not worry to much if in the beginning you get some strange changes.

Hi stevebkk,

Welcome to WebmasterWorld.

There are many past threads here that cover the topic of random fluctuation of results for a new site.

You can find most threads by using the site search and searching for everflux or freshbot.

That should give you plenty of threads that will help you understand what is going on.
