So after 9 months I resubmitted and bingo – in 24 hours the real deal.
This has to potentially hurt sites where fresh content is critical. So do you flush regularly or request a no cache from Google?
Google says
"Google takes a snapshot of each page examined as it crawls the web and caches these as a back-up in case the original page is unavailable. If you click on the "Cached" link, you will see the web page as it looked when we indexed it. The cached content is the content Google uses to judge whether this page is a relevant match for your query.
When the cached page is displayed, it will have a header at the top which serves as a reminder that this is not necessarily the most recent version of the page. Terms that match your query are highlighted on the cached version to make it easier for you to see why your page is relevant.
The "Cached" link will be missing for sites that have not been indexed, as well as for sites whose owners have requested we not cache their content."
Let me know

But now I am confussssed. The index page has been PR4 (for about 4 months) with second level pages (appox 10) PR 2 and as of the December update the first and second level pages (about 15) are all PR4 with another 10+ at PR2-3.
Do you think Google has upped the PR stakes before refreshing?

In my experience google's freshbot will visit a site with a PR of about 4.8 (I know you can't see the decimals usings the toolbar, they are a little easier to see using the directory). There is a very good post somewhere here on WW that tells you how to get a more accurate PR value from the directory.....I can't find it right now, but someone will have it to hand shortly after I post this!
The Deepcrawl bot should visit you at least once per month with a PR4. But, if you haven't changed the site's content (especially the home page) it may not give you a full crawl.
Change your home page, just a tad each month, and the deep crawl bot will keep you fresh. Get over PR 4.8 (best guess right now) and freshbot will keep you accurate on almost a daily basis :)
Since joining WebmasterWorld in November I have started a rolling update for most areas within the site. The home page has gone from a Splash page (MM Flash) to a standard html interface and for next months update will be a direct response page.
However, G has not done a deep trawl since the initial spidering (all .asp pages) and yet ATW is.
Just checked the logs on another site which has gone straight to a PR 5 (home page) in 2 months, that site is not getting a deep trawl either.
Off to do some home work :(
Thanks and looking forward to seeing the decimal :) URL.
