Similar pages, different PageRank - why?

Hi,

I have a store that sells about 1000000 products over the web. Each product has a product information page. All our product information pages have a PageRank of 2. Our competitors sell the exact same products, and have the same information on their product information pages - BUT - their PR is 5. Their design of the page is different.

Nobody is linking to their or mine product information pages. How come the Page Rank is different? We both have a main webpage with PR 6.

Their design of the page is different.
==========================================

could be 1 of 100s of factors.

What concerns me more is your comments about:

1, and have the same information on their product information pages.

2, 1000000 products over the web (excuse me for being nosey, but how many have you "actually" sold?

Firstly, you need to be sure that both sets of PageRank are real, not just the Toolbar guess for pages with no PageRank.

If the PR is real, then it comes down only to how the PageRank flows into those pages from other pages.
