Gogglebot and Broken Link

I have a new site got indexed by Google , there are about 5 percent of broken links on this site. What will happen with this site?. Will it get banned or penalized with lower page rank?.

Banned? I doubt it.

Penalized? No, but you need to fix those links if you expect repeat visitors.

You might want to consider downloading a free link-checker like LinkSleuth to prevent this from happening again.

Yes, I agree. Google won't penalize you except to the extent it won't find those pages and whatever is on those pages will never be indexed until the links are fixed.

On the other hand, if you are thinking about listing with Yahoo, too many broken links can result in being turned down.
