Forum Moderators: open
Yes, there are many wonderful people here and you know who you are, but just as Google plays God on the internet and makes it's own judgement of each web site the true Lord above realized the hypocracy that flourishes here.

Thanks! :)
As you can see your post is still here, and if I was a mod or Brett it most definately wouldn't be!
You have slandered this board, the owner, the mods and third parties (Google, and GoogleGuy) with practically no real evidence to support it.
Look at some of the posts that Brett has made, and other mods, regarding the activities of Google, they are not "sucking up" IMO, they are stating their thoughts. Some of which I don't always personally agree with, but they seem genuine enough to me, and everyone has a right to their opinion.
Look at the posts on the Google SEO guidelines page, it was not welcomed by many people, and seen by many of the mods as interferring in an area Google had no right to dictate.
IMO this forum is a great example of free speech, not allowing self promotion (understandable), and in no way tied to the interests of any particular search engine.
I have posted a number of messages stating things I don't like about Google....just my opinions, none have been "sensored" or edited.
Maybe Brett and a few mods do get some inside information, but I have no doubt that is provided more out of professional courtesy than somekind of conspiracy.
Over the past few years Google has dealt me blows from time to time. I never thought any were justified, often they just appeared to be bugs as they disappeared on their own. Once in a while I got caught for overstepping the mark and trying to be "too competitive".....that's the chance you take when you want to win!
Quit complaining about others and look in the mirror. Do what you have to, and expect to pay the price if you get too aggressive. Feel sorry for yourself if you got penalized unfairly, but don't take it out on others.
Most of all, don't assume Google doesn't screw up once in a while by accident. They will never admit that of course, they simply can't for legal reasons. But I've seen it numerous times. They correct it later and sometimes I think it is because of the posts highlighting the problems on this site.
I believe most people here want to gain from the vast knowledge available and want to use this forum as a method to communicate with SE's that may carry more weight than the singular email.
If you decide to dissapear it will be a loss to this forum, simply because your opinion might have been of interest to someone else. IMO communication of this type is always of value, whether you get flamed, or listened to :)
If a thread/post is removed its probably for the best and an instance of WebmasterWorld employing the Cover Your A_S principle to keep some lawyers somewhere happy.
If the thread goes down its probably in the interest of the participants of the thread that it goes down. I've had a few like that :), but most re-surface after a while.
It's no big deal and stuff isn't taken down w/o a good reason. A good reason is not because a particular search site "doesn't like" a particular post, otherwise at least half the ODP/LookSmart posts over the last year would have to be removed along with numerous other ones about the YAHOO! directory switch, as well as some of the posts about AV, Ink, and others.
I see GoogleGuy has just done exactly that with a reply to NovaW on a suspected and reported Google bug.

This is a great example of Google working with webmasters for the benefit of everyone.
WebmasterWorld and its members are making a positive contribution to the SE market place.
While SE's are here and listening, webmasters can work in tandem with SE's to produce better results for all :)
Thanks very much to everyone here, contributors, moderators, and all.
This is a moderated forum, owned and paid for by someone. That someone is also legally liable for what gets posted here. It is also heavily and regularly edited to keep posts within the TOS.
I am the moderator on a forum and at first we were trying to never edit or delete things, especially dissenting opinions. But the popular opinion of the members was that at a certian point, dissent becomes distraction. They also agreed that if we were willing to ban people for insulting other members, it was just as fair to ban people for insulting the moderators or even the group itself.
As for inside information that Brett might get, I would bet that he does get some preferential treatment when he introduces himself to Google employees. They might be willing to pass along some borderline public information. But they are probably even more careful about the true secrets when they are around him.
