In the past my index page was listed in dmoz for widgetsprockets. My main topic is widgetwodgets. Now dmoz have changed the listing to mydomain/widgetsprockets.html rather than how it was before to mydomain/index.htm. so they changed it to the more relevant part of my site. My main topic is an affiliate program so they wont list me for that. will this affect how google ranks the homepage in anyway?

You will see a higher pagerank for the page that is now listed in the odp, the rest of your pages will then be ranked depending on what other pages on the "web" link to each page. Pages both within your own site and sites other than your own will calculate your pagerank.

If you want to increase pagerank to your homepage the quickest way to do so would be to trade links with others and have them link to your homepage.

Also you might try to get other pages within your site linked at dmoz, I have about 6 or 7 pages linked from the dmoz. Of course these pages contain a great deal of unique content and are demend worthy by the dmoz.

Good Luck!

thanks....i just wonder what affect having a page in dmoz has for ranking...regardless to page rank....i wonder if google gives more weight to the page simply because youre listed?

Nope, google looks at the page in excatly the same manner. However when the dmoz is working properly and they update the "dump" then when your listed at the dmoz other clone directories will also pick you up and this is what really boosts your pagerank and why people feel so strongly about getting linked from dmoz.
