Are we never going to see another full scale update?

Do you think team google has figured out how to not update all at once?
Perhaps from now on - everything up to date will change with regards to googles updates..
Anyone have any thoughts on the future of google updates?

No, I doubt it. Reason being, PR has to be recalculated some time. Maybe they can do a gradual update in which they recalculate PR slowly, but PR has not changed (that I'm aware of) since last update, at all, for anyone. That means that they have to change it eventually, and when they do it will be called an update.
However, this could be a change in the cycle, a major change in the algo... or, it could just be the Google folks taking some time off for the holidays. It's way too soon to draw any conclusions. Patience, Grasshopper.

Na, na, it just takes a while to reset all the player's scores. You should know, every new year the game starts over - all pr, popularity, penalties and such is reset to 0 before the first new year's update and the hunting starts again!

Xylem might be on to something here - with fresh bots doing the rounds and reports from people on this forum having bans issued mid month it could be true. Also, I have seen people saying that their PR has been jumping around a bit. I myself have been getting grey bars on individual internal pages on a large site I maintain all month long.
