Disappointed in Google!

No New Years Graphics!

A completely useless topic started to relieve my tension in waiting for the google dance, but it just "ruined" my New Years knowing that they don't have any of their cute holiday graphics up for New Years Eve! I kind of enjoyed their Christmas graphics, and also liked their Turkey Day and Halloween ones, too.

I know, I need a life........But that's another story!

I don't think New Year's Eve is the official holiday... Cheer up! ;) They'll probably have a cute picture for New Year's Day.

Then again... getting a life would probably save you the trouble of cheering up. hehehe.

Come on, mivox, if any of us had -- or wanted -- a real life, would we be here?

I'm here. just got finished photographing a project I'm working on a DIY article that will be some killer content. Complete with my daughter in the pics! Google should love it. It should make the rounds pretty quick:)

Wife is having some wierd minor contractions...(A little ScottM called 'Amber' is on the way...)

Anyway, it will be another nice quiet New Year. Just like last year.

jimh009, you just need to believe. :) And be a little patient, maybe. ;)

Let's see here. Red button is update, green button is holiday logo. So someone here should press the *green* button.. okay..

It didn't work, Googleguy. Better give it a good bash (why not hit the red one while you're at it).

Just push the red button. Nobody around here will even notice that there's no New Year's logo.

Well technically it's not New Year's in California for three more hours.

Yep, no holiday logo, and December will go down as another month without an update. They must keep pushing the yellow button at the Googleplex. ;)

That purple owl is really kewl, its my favorite! I wonder if the artist(s) have names for the critters... (on a side note, imagine what it costs google in bandwidth to change the image and lose all those cached copies) -aV-

Hey, Mivox, hope you have a shot of Bourbon on me ... on the rocks naturally.

And Googleguy, you've still got a couple hours to push that red button. If you don't, be ready for the Big One because someone up above is gonna be ticked off.

Happy New Year to everyone :)

Yep. Awfully slow getting it up. My browser's home page happens to be google.fr, and its been 2003 in France for 5 hours already. And, I think that rabbit with the hammer is must have damaged the update button with it. ;) This definitely is costing Google money. That graphic is not that small.

Awesome graphics! Love the rabbit one. They even got it up before New Years, too, at least here in Montana.

Now, just hit that update button and we'll be all set!

Very nice 15K graphic.....My estimate for bandwidth cost is less than $100 per day.....money spent well as always!

Can't wait to see the number of pages indexed after the next update. Have to believe we are looking at 3.5 billion plus or someone forgot to hit the button at the appropriate time;)

I'd have thought Google would get more hits than that. However, a few hundred dollars or so for a day isn't going to bankrupt Google.
