Hi can anyone tell me if the google remove URL is automatic or if a human is involved in anyway?

How can they verify that you are not removing someone elses page?

Thanks

Hi daves,

Welcome.

The remove url or remove anything else request is automatic. It would have to be considering the number of requests they must get.

Verification is fairly straightforward. You must first set up and activate an account using your e-mail address. Then, depending on the request you make, something must be done to either the page file or the robots.txt file.

Examples: To remove the entire site there must be an entry in robots.txt that disallows Google. To remove individual pages you must first either put a "noindex, nofollow" entry in the meta robots tage or remove the page from the site.

Here's Google's info: [google.com...]

So basically, before Google does something the site owner has to do something.

Hope this helps,

Jim
