Linking to my site?

Could this lead to Google banning mine domain too?

Hello,

I made a search on my domain name today and several webpages on different domains were linking to my page (I saw this first after checking Google's cache of the page - so I assume this is what people call cloaking?)

I have no connection to these people what so ever and I do not wish to have either.

I find it very disturbing because they have chilpornographic related keywords on the right of my domain name and url.

There were approximatly 200-300 different pages with external and internal links and each site had a link to my domain.

I'm going to report this to Google but I'm worried they'll blacklist my webpage in case they think I'm associated with this which I'm not.

No that is not cloaking - that is called linking, not even close to cloaking.

Why report this to Google, what are they gonna do? Tell the bad web site to play nice? ( I don’t think so)

Why not send the web site in question a request to remove the links to your site? If they don’t, have your lawyer send them a strongly worded request. If they still don’t remove the links, I guess you can try and sue them, but I doubt a law suite would go anywhere unless you have a LOT of money to throw around.

I would suggest you hire a professional web developer or SEO to look things over before you take any action - 200 - 300 links could be a lot of PR to loose. You may find that this site is doing you a favor.

It's not a linkpage - I know what those look like. It does have a few links and one of them is mine. It looks like a collage of words. When I enter the page I see something toatally different than what I see when I look at Google's cache of the website or when make a GET. It's filled with loads of nonsense text and keywords and some links. It definately looks like spam and I don't want people looking for my webpage end up at some pornographic webpage.

And this guy has not only made one page like this, there is about 200-300 pages on google and my domain is on every damn page. And they all redirect me to some adult related website.

He is not doing me a favour and I thought Google appriciated spam reports?

Well I guess you can file that spam report with Google and sit back and wait until they take some action. LOL...

Once again I ask you what is Google gonna do? Ban the web site for putting up a link to your site - I don’t think so. And as far as you getting a penalty because a low quality porno site links you - well Google has said many times that is not the case, unless you link back to them.

If the Google cache is showing a different page than the one you see, the site MAY BE cloaking, but then again maybe they just changed content after the last crawl.

He is not doing me a favour
How do you know this, have you had a professional tell you or are you just guessing based on your obvious knowledge of web development?

I thought Google appriciated spam reports
Yes they do! Google likes snitches, as there algo is not good enough to detect all the things they don’t like.

This is basically a form of libel. I wouldn't be surprised if Google acted on your complaints, even if it may take a while.

May be cloaking? Haha, yeah, they have about 200 different links on different domains - pretty much the same page and a person can tell each page is computer generated.

You are probably right, it's nothing else than a link list and not a doorway page to drive traffic to dialers and sponsorship programs as well as childpornographic websites with questionable content which certainly not applies to 18 U.S.C. 2257 and C.F.R. 75.

But, yes, they are as you said, probably doing me a big favour.

Report to Google, they will take that site out of their database, or at least block it from appearing in the Top ranking. They really WILL because I see them did before. They pull down a 'spam' site that appear #1 after 2-3 weeks.

Mattias, may I know why this guy choose your site? And how your site can bring any benefit to him? Is it because your site is very popular and many people are looking for it end up in that spammer page?

Definitly report the case to google. Links are not only giving PR to your site. Also, are "theming" your site so tons of links with unrelated KWs can hurt more than help. Report and wait. They will do something.
