When I first time appeared in google index I was already grayed I was basically born damaged for google I lasted there 2 days then got stabed in the back by google.com
It's ok if I'm not in google but I still would like to understand how this Big Brother ban sites?
Is it a new site? Then Google just grabbed a few pages in the everflux process. You probably will be back next month. Plenty of time to get links and get listed in smaller directories.
Do a site search on everflux, you will find a lot of goodies.
hmm..today, I'm back again in G' Index but grayed.
Only my index page.I guess the indexing process isn't complete. I saw google in log file today.
BAD advice. With the backlog at the DMOZ, it could take many months before any editor looks at his site. The first link to look for is from a friend out there with a site in Google who will do it as a favor. Then try the DMOZ.
The backlog in ODP is probably huge in many cats, but by far not in all. Also you might have made a very good, instantly convincing site with a very good, instantly convincing submission, and therefore you might be included pretty fast.
My fastest inclusion was in less than one day.
No other sites link to me
A few months back after an extensive conversation about Google, a friend asked if a would link to him (because he wasn't in Google). An update later he was in.
A couple of month went by, another conversation he noted (and quite happy) about his PR6. I responded that a link back would be nice... he retorted "I don't link out to other sites"... an hour or so later I removed the link.
The next update and another conversation, he couldn't understand what happened, he was now banned from google.
I retorted "A one link wondering isn't that valuable to Google users, so I removed the link".
I tell you, it is a real gutting feeling having a site banned, a miserable Xmas. I'm talking here about someones livelihood, jobs may be lost. I really wish there was some warning from Google, or some way to communicate with them.

[edit reason] As per charter [/edit]
My profile didn't show up the site in question, <edit>It won't until you reach a certain number of posts, this is to prevent drive-by site reviews which are against the charter</edit>
creative craig, thanks for your comment, but it seems that the damage is done, I need to repair it somehow.

I see that you are grey but not white. Your home page is cached. And you show backlinks. So I don't think you are banned. I think this is just one of those flukes and you'll be back in shortly.
I didn't do any work here but at first glance I can't see that you've done anything to be banned. If you have, I'm sure you know about it. But I think you just need to wait this out.
My advice: If you have duplicated the site - remove the site from the other domain(s) and wait a few months. If you get no joy, rebuild the site on a completely new domain.

If google finds the same site under more than one domain then only one gets ranked.
Also there are areas on the web where you don't want to be linked to in case you are in for longterm success with a site.
First I'd try to evaluate what the problems might be. Then I'd try to evaluate if this is something that can be corrected.
If so, try to get along for a while with different traffic sources.
If not, throw away the domain and built anew, as fast and good as you can.
It's definitely necessary to build on other routes of traffic and sales for every responsible business man, especially if there are other people depending with their livelihood on that business.
I didn't mean heini not to submit the ODP. It is just that while one may be able to get links from friends and family in days, at the ODP the way things work is getting listed can take from days, to years. It makes sense to first try for links that you know you will get quick. I'm an ODP editor with cat space that has over 5,000 listed sites. The only unrevieweds that exist in this cat space are there only because they are in child cats with apparently active editors, and I don't want to intrude and let those editors deal with them. However, I recently went through a pile of unrevieweds that were submitted as early as the year 2000 in child cats with no editors. At the moment, if someone submits a site in cat space where I am the sole ODP editor, I'll likely deal with it in a matter of days. However, last I checked the ODP had over a million greens. There are a lot of ODP cats out there where getting in can take a long time.
It's a really bad feeling getting grey-barred. My sites (more than one) still have other search engine traffic sources, but it just that google along with its yahoo results make up around 70% of the traffic flow. That means 70% less orders, which makes all the difference of success or not.
I've sent emails off to help@google.com, but fellow forum users here dont hold out much hope.
I know it sounds a bit revolutionary, but I wish Google would if neccessary even make a charge to support and assist banned and PR0 users to recover. I would hand them some cash willingly if they informed me of the reasons, then on correcting them promptly re-inserted the site into the index.
