Pyramid Linking

Just what is it really

I read a bit of information on Brett's other website where he recommends "pyramid linking". Could someone please explain this to me. Is it not similiar to getting involved in a link farm. I'm sure Brett wouldn't put out information that was inaccurate but before I even begin to investigate it I want to make sure just what "or if" google has a policy on such a linking campaign. I've done my linking the old fashioned way. Email after email but my poor ole fingers are tired. Could this be an easier way? Thanks

Nothing wrong with this strategy.

In addition - Brett's original post was based on a single domain/site.

The overall concept is based on related information.

You start with a web site about "trees" which once you have covered all things about trees -- you may want to venture expanding your site into:

pulp & paper
lumber mills
hydro-electric power
alternative power resources
the environment
climate change/global warming
weather phenomena
disaster relief

...and so on. The "Pyramid" affect (or the broading of each sub-section as well as the site itself) is endless.

Each new topic is a topic unto itself but also related to the next and/or many adjacent topics. The commonalities between the subject matter allows linking to develop vertically as well as horizontally.

Thank you Fathom for your quick answer. I know when i did a search last evening on "pyramid links" I came up with all sorts of responses but most seemed to look like a typical pyramid scheme. They basically wanted me to create a new page on my web site which in turn would promote others and in time I suppose my link might make it to where people would see it - this surely is not the strategy you mentioned and it's surely a strategy I don't (nor want) to use. Thanks again - another blunder stopped in advance by webmaster world :)

Ya... it's easy to confuse the two since the latter involves lots and lots of hype. :)

Glad to help.
