Duplicate content

Does this count?

I use on my index page a paragraph about a place with a link to click to see pictures. I use exactly the same paragraph on that page with the pictures. I suddenly realised maybe this would be seen as dupe content. My only reason for doing this was i didn't want the pics to slow down my front page. Is this bad...will i get penalised. The content went through it's first update in the November Dance and is there. Does that mean i am o.k?

I can't attest to how spiders and bots may react to this. However, as a viewer, duplicity and redundancy are major turn-offs for me.

Put your thinking cap on and next thing you know, you'll have a viable solution to your query.

hi there pendanticist

I'm already adding more information as quickly as possible to the pages concerned but I still want to leave the original Overview paragraph there for people who come into the site that way.

Thanks for the quick reply
