ok..i have widgets.co.uk....a lot of people forget its .co.uk and look for widegts.com when returning...so ive now got widget.com as well....i know its been asked a million zillion times but just this one more time..is this the best way to proceed....i intend to have both domains on the same server..i will have a link from widgets.com on the first and only page saying something like....enter site :-)..and make it a simple link to widgets.co.uk...is this safe ...?..will google be ok and not start muttering?

I think that the setup is ok, provided that you don't promote the single page domain. If you promote it, then you've created an abusive doorway page.

If you have any competition, you can safely bet your last dollar that if that page makes the serps they'll be reporting your butt to the spam police.

How to do it? Don't put any keywords on the page. Maybe use a gif. Give nothing useful to the search engine to index. And don't promote it or link to it or submit it to the search engine.

nope..dont intend to promote it since the main site is the .co.uk...so...exclude it by robots text..no meta tags..just a gif for the link....im still kinda nervous...:-)

How about a plain old 301 even google would be happy with that.
You would not even need to have the domain setup separate. Just make your other domain accept it as another name for the main domain.

Plus if anyone links to the .com you get credit for it, at least with google.
