Yahoo store & web store

Hello,

I have a question on whether it's appropriate to add a Yahoo store in addition to my regular store. The point is not to spam, but to create a legitimate channel that can receive more traffic from the Yahoo Shopping network. In addition to my website, I currently also sell on eBay and have an Ebay store.

I hope there's no penalty because I currently have an Ebay store and simply have a link to my site in the About Me page.

Anyone doing this and thoughts on it?

Thanks.

IMHO, I don't see any reason why this should cause any penalty.

Thanks for your reply.

What if there were links from the Yahoo Store to my web store?

A link from your Y! store to your main site shouldn't hurt you at all, especially if the sites are not cross linked. It is generally thought that one-way links into your web site cannot hurt you.

I do this very thing on the site in my profile. It may not be EXACTLY what you are thinking to do, but quite similiar anyhow.

If you have any questions, feel free to let me know. I link TO the webstore on only a couple of pages, and back to the homepage of the normal site. I don't think this should be a problem, as it is quite legitimate way to ensure that the entire site is accessible.

Hi, its hard to say what your return on investment will be but I notice buyers tend to stick to store formats they are familiar with. Even if I refer eBay an buyer to my web store, many will bid on the item I listed on eBay. So, along the same lines, a Yahoo! Yahoo! Store, I think, will help capture buyers that are comfortable with the Yahoo! Store format.

Hello,

The reason that I want to link back to my normal store is that I don't plan on putting my full product line on Yahoo. Currently 95% of our sales are 2-5 products, so I am just planning on concentrating on those. So I would only have a link back to my main site for the products I am not going to list on Yahoo.

You are right about people staying in their store formats. I've seen few people ever buy from my regular website that originated from eBay.

Thanks.
