Hello,

Sorry if this is a basic question, but looked around and couldn't find a definitive answer. My site launched in early November and missed the October update. I got it listed in a PR6 Dmoz category and a couple other PR5 categories in between the updates. Got spidered in November and my site shows up when I type the url in google.

But my PR is 1 and I don't see any backlinks reported by the toolbar. Also, when I type in the URL into Google, I see some links from people that have cobranded the DMOZ results, but not the actual DMOZ link. I'm missing my other 2 prominent links as well. Somehow my eBay store got indexed as well and that shows up because I have a link to my site from the "About Me Page".

Any ideas on why the PR is still low? Does it take the second update to really show all the links. Hope these aren't the stable results since my main keywords show up 3-4 pages deep.

Thanks.

Yep!

The index is in a constant state of movement and updating, (search seperately for Everflux and Freshbot to get more information on these) but PR is only calculate once a month at update time. It usually take a few days after the update starts for things to settle down and the new PRs to become evident.

So I am afraid you will have to wait until the next update to get your first real PR value. Frustrating I know.

Well, your site is brand new and has very few incoming links. Therefore the PR is low. And Google won't show you all your incoming links even if they "count" towards your PR and link popularity.
Make sure to have and add plenty of content to your site and work on getting a lot more quality incoming links and you will slowly see your PR increase. But don't get too focused on pagerank. Concentrate on making a useful web site with unique and excellent content, that's all. Good luck! :)

Thanks for the advice. Will work on the content. Links are kind of harder since I've scoured a few related categories and tried to get all the links I could get.
